Csanád grew up as the fourth child in a family of five boys, where a love of music and community became a part of his life from an early age. He first encountered the piano at his grandmother’s home in Slovakia – “Dóri Nagyi”, who was an excellent piano teacher herself, providing inspiration and guidance from the very beginning. She also gave him his first piano, which determined the direction of his life. His talent quickly became apparent: as a small child, he could play back folk songs, well-known melodies, and even Beethoven’s famous “Ode to Joy” from Symphony No. 9 by ear. Family has always played a central role in his life. His practicings were listened to by an audience of six – his siblings and parents – so he learned as a child what makes a performance exciting and lively. This search for experience, attention, and connection with the audience have defined his artistic path ever since. “My goal is to open the door for the audience to that childhood home where we are all one family – where we can experience the intimate world together through music. For me, the audience cannot be just listeners: they are the most important people on stage.”
